Below are some of the most frequently asked questions from our customers. If you have any others, please give us a ring.

When should I book a maternity nurse or night nanny?
As soon as possible. Ideally, after your first trimester in pregnancy. If this isn’t possible, as soon as you can to make sure we know and understand your needs and requirements fully.

How do I choose the right post natal care - maternity nurse or night nanny?
A maternity nurse will live in your home, as part of your family, giving 24-hour cover 5 or 6 days a week.

Her job is to help you establish a good routine for you and your baby and keeping the baby’s nursery organised. Many will also help a little round the house if your baby permits! Please don’t expect her to cook family meals, babysit siblings or act as chauffeur as her experience and expertise lies with looking after babies.

A night nurse’s job is to help your baby sleep through the night and for new mums and dads to get some well earned rest. She will usually arrive between 9 and 10pm and leave between 6 and 7am the following morning.

Our night nurses have huge experience of newborns and will help establish a workable routine for you and your baby.

She will sleep in your baby’s room, giving all the night feeds or, if you’d prefer, bring your baby to you for breastfeeds.

When should the booking start?
We recommend you book a maternity nurse or night nanny to start at least one week after your due date.

Of course you will be tired by then but will have also had time to bond with your baby but think of all the questions and issues you need help with.

We also find that parents are more emotionally ready for help a week or so after giving birth.

What happens to my booking if my baby is born early, or very late?
We will always try to be as flexible as possible with your booking so if your requirements or needs change during your pregnancy, or after birth, we will work with you as much as we can.

Should your baby arrive very early and your nurse not be available, we will do everything we can to find a suitable alternative as quickly as possible.

If your baby arrives later than the contracted start-date, you will be liable to pay your nurse 50% of the agreed salary.

Do you cover my area?
